MarketCroft

The Pacific Northwest's Independent Merchants Deserve Their Own Collective.

MarketCroft is a mobile marketplace built exclusively for independent brick-and-mortar stores — starting right here in Portland, OR and SW Washington.

No upfront cost. No corporate playbook. Just a collective of like-minded store owners who believe local commerce matters.

The Problem

Convenience drives buying decisions.

When customers search online, large e-commerce platforms dominate results — even when local stores have the same products in stock, at comparable prices, available today.

Independent retailers aren't losing on quality or selection. They're losing on visibility.

How It Works

Simple to join. Easy to run.

01

Apply

Tell us about your store and what you sell. Takes about five minutes. We review every application personally and get back to you within two business days.

02

Get Set Up

We help you build your storefront, upload products, and get comfortable with the app. You'll have a direct line to our team — not a support queue.

03

Go Live Before the Holiday Push

Get your storefront and products fully set up now. We're building toward a public launch this holiday season — founding merchants will be first in line when shoppers arrive.

A historic local storefront

You're not joining a platform. You're joining a collective.

Local brick-and-mortar businesses are the backbone of our communities. They create jobs, shape the character of neighborhoods, and build relationships that national e-commerce platforms can't replicate.

MarketCroft gives independent merchants shared digital infrastructure — so you spend less time fighting algorithms and more time building the business you love.

See The Opportunity

The App

A full storefront in your pocket.

MarketCroft is mobile-first. Your store, your products, and your orders — managed from your phone.

Your Digital Storefront

Your store page, photos, and brand — visible to every customer searching in Portland and SW Washington. You look as polished as anyone on the platform.

Order Management

New orders arrive as notifications on your phone. Accept, update status, and track fulfillment — all from the app, in seconds.

Product Catalog

Add products with photos, descriptions, and prices. Update inventory in real time. One store or two — managed from the same place.

Customer Discovery

Customers see your story, not just your SKUs. Local context, real photos, and a direct connection to what makes your store worth visiting.

Founding Merchant Cohort

We're selecting our founding merchant cohort in Portland and SW Washington.

25 of 25 spots remaining

This isn't a waitlist — it's a first cohort. Founding merchants shape what gets built, how the platform works, and what it stands for.

1

Shape the Product

You'll get early access to new features before they go live. Your real-world feedback directly influences what we build next.

2

Build Your Presence First

Set up your storefront and list products before the platform opens to the public. When customer traffic arrives, you're already established.

3

Direct Line to the Founder

No support queue. No ticket system. Founding merchants work directly with the people building the platform.

4

Input on Pricing

Beta is free. We're still finalizing our pricing for launch — founding merchants will have direct input on how it's structured.

Our Commitment

Not a national marketplace. A local one.

MarketCroft is not a national marketplace expanding into your town. We start community by community — partnering directly with independent store owners who know their neighbors and care about where their dollars go.

MarketCroft is built on a simple belief: the people who create value in their communities should be able to build real, lasting success from their work.

Common Questions

Things merchants ask us.

Which cities is MarketCroft launching in first?

We're starting in Portland, OR and SW Washington. Once the collective is strong here, we'll expand to other cities — always community by community, never all at once.

What does beta testing actually involve?

You run your store on the app as you normally would — listing products, managing orders, updating inventory. As a founding merchant, you'll get early access to new features before they go live, and we'll occasionally ask for your honest feedback. No mandatory sessions, no time commitments beyond using the app.

What will MarketCroft cost?

Nothing during beta. We're still finalizing our pricing model for launch — most likely a combination of a small monthly subscription and a modest commission on sales. Founding merchants will have direct input on how that's structured before anything is finalized.

How many merchants are you accepting?

We're keeping the first cohort to 25 merchants. Small enough that we can give each one real attention and support. Once we've validated the platform works well, we'll open more spots.

Do I need to be tech-savvy?

No. If you can take a photo with your phone and send a text message, you can run your store on MarketCroft. We help you get set up and we're available if you get stuck.

What if it's not a good fit?

You can leave at any time. No contracts, no cancellation fees, no hard feelings. Honest feedback about what isn't working is more valuable to us than merchants who stay out of obligation.
