Products & Inventory · 5 min read
If you already sell on Shopify, connect it to import your products automatically and, if you want, send your Marketcroft orders there too.
If you already have a Shopify store, you don't have to type in all your products a second time. Connecting Shopify brings your products — names, photos, prices, and how many you have in stock — into Marketcroft automatically. You can also choose to have orders placed through Marketcroft sent to your Shopify account too, so you can manage everything from the place you're already used to. Both parts are optional and you can turn the second one on or off whenever you like.
Tap 'My Stuff' at the bottom of the screen, then tap your store. Look for a button called 'Merchant Dashboard' and tap it. On that screen, tap 'Inventory.' Near the top, you'll see a section labeled 'Shopify.'
Tap the button that says 'Connect Shopify & Import.' A box will appear asking for your Shopify store address — this is the web address you use to manage your Shopify store, usually something like 'yourstorename.myshopify.com.' Type it in, then tap 'Authorize.'
Your phone will open a browser and take you to Shopify's website. If you're not already logged in to Shopify, it'll ask you to log in first. You'll then see a screen listing what Marketcroft is asking permission to do — this is normal and is how Shopify keeps you in control. Review it and tap 'Install' or 'Approve.' You'll be sent back to the Marketcroft app automatically, and your products will start importing right away.
Once the import finishes, go back to your Products list to see everything that came in from Shopify. Take a look and make sure things look right — photos, prices, and stock counts. If you ever add or change products in Shopify afterward, come back to this same Shopify section and tap 'Sync from Shopify' to pull in the latest changes. It won't create duplicates — it just updates what's already there.
If you're used to managing all your orders from Shopify, you can turn on 'Push orders to Shopify.' Find that switch in the same Shopify section. Because this changes where you'll go to manage your orders, the app will ask you to confirm before turning it on or off — you'll see a message explaining what's about to change. Read it and tap 'Confirm' if that's what you want. Once it's on, every order a customer places through Marketcroft will also appear in your Shopify Orders list, ready to fulfill from there.
Orders still show up in your Marketcroft Orders screen too, so nothing disappears from view — this just adds a copy to Shopify. If you print a shipping label and mark the order fulfilled with a tracking number on Shopify's side, that tracking number automatically shows up on the Marketcroft order as well, so you don't need to enter it twice. You can turn this off again at any time the same way — tap the switch and confirm.
If you ever want to stop syncing with Shopify entirely, go back to the Shopify section and tap 'Disconnect.' This removes the connection, but any products already imported into Marketcroft will stay — they just won't update automatically anymore.
