Managing Orders

What to do when a customer places an order — from the first notification to handing off the package.

  1. 1

First: make sure notifications are turned on

When a customer places an order, your phone will send you an alert — but only if notifications are allowed for the Marketcroft app. To check this, go to your phone's Settings app. The Settings app is separate from Marketcroft — look for a gray icon with gears on your home screen and tap it. Once inside Settings, scroll down to find 'Marketcroft' in the list and tap it. Look for a setting called 'Notifications' or 'Allow Notifications' and make sure it's switched on (it should be green, not gray). If you're unsure how to do this, ask a family member to help — it only takes a moment.

  2. 2

How to find a new order

When an order comes in, your phone will show an alert at the top of the screen. You can tap that alert to go directly to the order. You can also find your orders at any time by tapping 'My Stuff' at the bottom of the screen, then tapping 'Orders.' New orders appear at the top of the list with a label that says 'New' or 'Pending.'

  3. 3

    Read the order carefully

Tap on an order to open it. You'll see what the customer ordered, how many of each item, their name, whether it's for pickup or shipping, and the order total. Read through the whole thing before doing anything else, so you know exactly what you need to prepare.

  4. 4

    Confirm the order

Once you've read the order and you know you can fill it, tap the 'Confirm' or 'Accept' button. This sends the customer a notification letting them know you've received their order and are working on it. If one of the items is out of stock and you can't fulfill the order, reach out to us through the Contact button in the app before confirming — we'll help you sort it out.

  5. 5

Mark it as ready or shipped

When the order is packaged and ready for the customer to pick up, or when you've dropped it off with a shipping carrier, tap the 'Mark as Fulfilled' or 'Ready for Pickup' button. This sends the customer a notification that their order is ready. If you shipped it and have a tracking number, you can enter it on the order screen so the customer can follow their package — tap the tracking number field and type it in.

  6. 6

    If something goes wrong

If you need to cancel an order or issue a refund, open the order and scroll to the bottom of the screen — you'll find options there. For anything more complicated, tap the 'Contact' button in the app and describe the situation. We respond within one business day and will walk you through whatever you need.
