Getting Found on the Map

How the Explore Map works, and what you can do to make sure customers can find your store.

  1. 1

    How the map works

Inside the Marketcroft app, there's an Explore screen that shows customers a map of stores near them — like a Google Maps but just for Marketcroft merchants. Your store appears as a small pin on that map once your address is saved and your profile is live. When a customer taps your pin, a small preview pops up showing your store photo and name. If they want to learn more, they tap through to your full store page. This is how most customers will discover you.

  2. 2

    Double-check your address

Go to My Stuff, tap your store, tap Manage Store, then look for 'Details' or 'Store Info.' Check that your street address is correct and complete — including street number, street name, city, and state. An incorrect address puts your map pin in the wrong location, and customers trying to visit you will get directions to the wrong place. If everything looks correct but your pin still seems off, contact us and we'll fix it.

  3. 3

    Keep your hours accurate

Many customers filter the map to show only stores that are currently open. If your hours are blank, your store will be hidden from anyone using that filter — even if you're open right now. Go to Manage Store → Hours and fill in your hours for every day you're open, including any days you close early. Update them whenever your schedule changes, including for holidays.

  4. 4

    Fill out your profile

A store with a banner photo, a logo, a bio, and tags gets visited far more than a store without them. Think about it from the customer's side: they tap your map pin and see a blank profile with no photo and no information. They'll usually move on. Adding a photo and a few sentences about your store takes less than 10 minutes and makes a real difference in how often customers tap through.

  5. 5

    Add some products

Customers are much more likely to visit when they can see what you carry first. You don't need to list everything — even 10 to 15 of your most popular or best-looking items gives customers a reason to make the trip. Stores with products listed also appear higher in browse results.
